Untrained personnel can perform basic maintenance functions such as cleaning and replacing air filters. An accessory kit, supplied by the manufacturer, shall be used to convert to propane gas use or may be required for some natural gas applications. Follow the Electronic Discharge Precautions Procedure listed below during furnace and servicing to protect the furnace electronic control. Precautions will prevent electrostatic discharges from personnel and hand tools which are held during the procedure. These precautions will help to avoid exposing the control to electrostatic discharge by putting the furnace, the control, and the person at the same electrostatic potential. If operation of furnace is required during construction, use clean outside air for combustion and ventilation. Compounds of chlorine and fluorine, when burned with combustion air, form acids which will cause corrosion of heat exchangers. The following precautions should be taken: 1. Size gas piping based on the high-fire input. 2. Check the high-fire input and adjust it per the main literature instructions. NEVER assume the high-fire input rate is not important for low-fire-only installation. To remove perforated, supply-air duct flanges, use wide duct pliers, duct flange tool, or hand seamers to bend flange back and forth until it breaks off. Failure to follow this warning can cause fire, personal injury, or death. The air filter arrangement will vary due to application, furnace orientation, and filter type. These elements are found in aerosols, detergents, bleaches, cleaning solvents, salts, air fresheners, adhesives, paint, and other household products. Congratulations you just installed a 13 SEER air conditioner that will get you around 8 SEER with that static pressure. I could not see the photos of the install but it does sound like they belong on this side of the site. 120k furnace is a monster let me know when that thing is working so I can come over and use it to cook with. Even in a cold climate that is a huge furnace, look for the heat exchanger to crack soon with that static pressure so high 1.17.nice. When I replaced my system last month that was installed 6 years ago when my home was brand new, I had to add two 8 inch ducts to drop the static pressure down.08 I.W.C. I also had to enlarge the return that was a 16 to an 18. This was on a 2.5 ton system. The factory rep came over because their shop is less than 1 mile from my home and he said most systems are short 1 return and 2 supplies. He also said the number one failure of heat exchangers is too high of static pressure. Congratulations you just installed a 13 SEER air conditioner that will get you around 8 SEER with that static pressure. fruits-kiyoka.com/upload/newsfiles/Doctrine-U0026-Covenants-Student-Manual.pdf Congratulations you just installed a 13 SEER air conditioner that will get you around 8 SEER with that static pressure. But since you are here, thought it might help you to know how my problems worked out. Thanks to the good folks here at this site, I was able to get enough knowledge to go back to the company and make the case that they way oversized me. They were totally committed to my satisfaction which is commendable. I agreed - that was 2 sizes under the 120k btu they originally installed and the blower size is same on 60k versus 80k so I figured it would solve my static pressure issues and he was scaring me - who wants to be cold. So they ripped out the brand new 120k btu and put in a brand new 80k btu. Problem mostly solved. I can now get the static pressure under.5 - even with a couple vents closed in rooms we don't heat. I say mostly solved because I still have more furnace than I need - even when the temp dipped to -5F I still only had the furnace set to low stage and maintained 70 degrees with no problem. If I allow high stage to be used, static pressure still too high. So I paid for variable speed dual stage but am really only using single speed single stage. I'm sure there are many homeowners out there who don't have a clue that their new furnace is running with high static pressure or what the impact of that means in the long run.But since you are here, thought it might help you to know how my problems worked out. All to often, under performing systems with indadiquate duct systems are the norm. The difference now is that the controls on some of this new equipment are telling home owners how badly thier systems are performing, and they are, quite rightfully, getting on the contractors backs about it.Post Them Here HVAC-Talk is proudly provided by: Contracting Business Magazine.
